Ok...here is is....
Could it be that Hollywood is so evil because it is the one area the church has refused to meet Satan on his own turf?

He is the prince of the power of the air.....
TV travels through the "air waves"......

IF we are truly the church that the gates cannot prevail against.......what are we REALLY afraid of?

Some will say.....But TBN has turned to hollywood in nature.

THIS IS TRUE!! TBN has not now nor will it ever represent the church of the Living God...

IT (TBN) is not Apostolic........So they went into the battle without the Holy Ghost with them to begin with.

BUT......IF we are the truth and WE are the church......why are we so afraid to go toe to toe with the enemy?

Seriously guys.....this has been tearing me up inside!
Are we trying to protect our traditions, our concepts our control of people....or are we just flat our afraid to go to the battlefield?

Some will say...."If we go on tv...we will lose our holiness".

I DISAGREE!.....IF tv makes some lose their "holiness", they never had it to begin with.
SOMETIMES a test is the only way to prove you have learned anything.

Remember....JESUS IS OUR HOLINESS....Our dress are standards of holiness that project an outward sign of an inward conversion.
I would dare say that if TV made you lose your holiness.....you never had Jesus in you to begin with and your outward holiness was pointless.

So.....since scripture says the "violent take it by force". why are we scared of the battle of the airwaves!

NO...its not the answer to all our outreach needs and no it will not win the world. But, I do feel it is a step towards the fullfilment of the great commision.

I say this...what if.....just if....the Apostolic Church was willing to go toe to toe with hollywood?
What would happen....
One of two things...either it would prove us to be fakes.....OR it would cause SATAN to lose grip on his kingdom and it would remind him that NOT even the prince of the air stands a chance against the KING OF IT ALL!!!!!!!

It is true that the family type movies consistently make the most money.

So... if the money is in family entertainment... then what agenda keeps turning out the other junk?

Very good point... If there were a good consistent source of family friendly viewing then what impact would that have on the industry?

I appreciate the thread's effort to cause us to ask and/or re-examine the use of any medium but, IMO, Hollywood is way more than the medium, it's a manufacturing center of images.

The super majority of the images are lying images.

Youtube and its future offsprings may be a far better approach to inserting another message into the "marketplace of ideas".

WHAT????? TBN IS NOT THE CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD???? WHAT????

Ok you are right, but I enjoy watching them on there.

The story has been told over and over again that one of the men that came up with a video recorder asked a church to help sponsor the production, they said no thus the men moved on. I know for a fact that many years ago an enterprising young man was coming through Tx on his way out to the southeast and he met a UPC Pastor and his wife. (I know this because the UPC family is related to my pastor and they told me the story.) The young man asked if these people would like to invest in his venture of opening up a tv station. They of course declined and stated about how the organization they were in did not promote tv as an affective tool or ministry, this was way, way before any affirmation statement. This man moved on the Atlanta and started Turner Broadcasting System now know as TBS. The man was Ted Turner.

We have missed opportunities in the past to get into the markets. Most of these have been missed because of an organizational stance, now is the time the organization take a stand and say we will not be passed by any longer. Other faiths and organizations have benefitted from the TV medium where as we have not. Still too many people still lost to still sit still! Go after it! Get on everychannel you can get on. Joel Osteen, whether you like him of not he is on everywhere. He is even showing the "Discover the Champion in You" broadcast and MSNBC. There is a great opportunity in front of us. So many days behind us that have caused us to be left behind in the avenue of media. Next step.....reach the lost-at all cost.......who will take the step?

Tell me something Coon......If someone or something was holding your kids hostage....would you just stand back and refuse to go where the enemy was and just watch them die or would your love for them mandate you kick down the door and set them free??

Wonder how God looks at his "kids" and wonders why his church is so whimpy when it comes to setting some folks free.

Just a thought.
