Rescue 911

The Hoovers weren't the only family on national television.
This aired about 12 years ago. It is my uncle (Kevin), aunt and (then) two year old son(Kevin Jr). He is a happy, bouncing 17 year old now.

By the way, my last name is Dietmeyer. Wayne is my middle name (just like 'Danger'!).

Wow! That is really touching. As an EMT I have seen a feww children with facial injuries that did not make it. I'm always glad to hear a happy ending.

This was filmed long before reality shows became popular but they did video tape the whole "making of" as it occurred. It was amazing just how much crew and make-up people were on hand to film the whole thing!
(Also Kevin Jr played himself at the very beginning of the show, but if you look carefully, you can see he turns into a different kid.)

And they did not even get to meet Capt Kirk (Shatner)!

That was interesting!

My daughter has the markings of the prongs of a fork in the back of her throat from 8-9 years ago.

She was outside on the patio eating and her older brother and friends were playing basketball - - the basketball "somehow" ended up slamming into her mouth where she had the fork.

It didn't lodge, but it bled and for a while we couldn't tell what had happened - - it was a bit scary to say the least.

Methinks the retelling of the incident on the show doesn't quite capture the absolute panic that was occurring during the actual event.

I was on Romper Room once!

(And was on the Radio also.... as a DJ, "Randy Wayne on Saturday night!" ...even though my last name is Dietmeyer.)

Wouldn't been a good testimony for someone, anyone to say that GOD was the one who provided the miracle, though., glorify GOD! HE is good!

I am sure it was very scary, and she did the right thing, I would've done the same thing if it was my kid I'd of been too scared to touch anything., anyway.

Willam Shatner sure did LOOK different even then not so long ago..he looks so bloated as I've seen him on tv commercials of late.
