Worse still was getting hit recently with a $500 fine for engaging in the “practice of engineering” without a license while pressing his cause. So last week, Mr. Jarlstrom filed a civil rights lawsuit in federal court against the Oregon State Board of Examiners for Engineering and Land Surveying, charging the state’s licensing panel with violating his First Amendment rights.
“I was working with simple mathematics and applying it to the motion of a vehicle and explaining my research,” said Mr. Jarlstrom, 56. “By doing so, they declared I was illegal.”

Wow. Sounds like liberals run amok. Oregon is also where the cupcake business was shut down after being fined a ridiculous amount for refusing to serve a gay wedding.

Talk about censorship and banning speech. These morons fined a politician (who has a degree in engineering) for simply using the word engineer in his ad!

What are these morons thinking? That they have a monopoly on the word "engineer?"

One can't claim to be a police officer, engineer, or doctor with actually being a licensed individual in those fields. It is to protect people from misrepresentation.

Besides, we're expected to know the law when engaged in a given pursuit. What idiot buys a boat without ensuring that he knows the laws governing the registration and use of his specific boat?

However, I think this lawsuit is rather petty.

A - you obviously didn't read the article. Go read it, then comment.
(Trying to use your condescending tone back at you. Did I succeed or does it need more work?)

No response from Aquila? Other than to edit his post to include "However, I think this lawsuit is rather petty."

No kidding?!
