Re: Trumpcare
Honestly, I think we need to go back to a system where we pay for our health care ourselves, and health insurance is strictly for catastrophic, unforeseen circumstances. It will no doubt be difficult to reverse this trend of relying on health insurance, but I believe it's essential to bringing the cost down overall.
Another thing we have to deal with, is people using the emergency rooms like free health care. Emergency rooms should be for just that, emergencies. I don't know for sure what we could do about that, but something must be done.

A large business in my area changed their ER policy to reflect "emergencies only", i.e., broken limbs, etc.
Many people, at the company, were taking advantage of their policy by going to the ER for the common cold and other non-emergency issues, running up large fees.
I've seen so many people become so dependent on the medical industry, they never try healing their own bodies first. My rule - unless you are in pain or bleeding, we don't go to the doctor. lol

If we had stayed with that system, we would have been better off.
I think we are too far down the road to go back, though.

The issue is the person going doesn't know if what they are going for is serious. My mom had had really bad chest pain before. Bad enough to scare her into going to the hospital invade it might be a heart attack. It wasn't serious. Gas had built up in her chest.

I believe that chest pain would have been an acceptable ER choice with this company.

I don't know. The employee telling me about the change made me want to say, "Good. You go to the ER for every little issue and your company should drop you altogether." LOL! I get really turned off by people who depend so much on the medical industry, when a lot of the issues can be resolved ourselves.
Of course, aside from heart problems, cancer, etc.
