Probably this shouldn't have even been said to them, because no one outside of Pentecostal circles would understand this type of logic. It only makes the Pentecostal church world seem foolish to outsiders.
Someone told me last night about a Pentecostal guy who wouldn't allow this gal to wear an "eternity" necklace, but he told her he would have it made into a pin for her. Ok, now coming from my background, I understand what he's saying. But think about how this sounds to a heathen. It's the same way when someone says they can't go to see a movie but they are waiting for it to come out on DVD. No logic here, but tradition makes it acceptable to those in Pentecostal churches. But outsiders.........they think these things are ridiculous and if you look at it from the other side, you see it that way too.
