Okay, new thread....it seems that all sins, even those listed in the Bible, are subjective and abstract....

So...

List the things that you believe are CONCRETELY sin, according to the BIBLE, and give your reasons, and define the sin. Be sure to clarify any and all exceptions. (Such as, lying is a sin, but if you are hiding from the Romans in the catacombs it may be okay.)

What do YOU think is sin? What do you abstain from? Why? What things do you believe every Christian must abstain from, in order to be a follower of Christ?

Guess I would start with the ones in concrete.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me
Thou shalt not make for yourself an idol
Thou shalt not make wrongful use of the name of your God
Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy
Honor Thy Mother and Father
Thou shalt not murder
Thou shalt not commit adultery
Thou shalt not steal
Thou shalt not bear false witness
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house.

What qualifies as a god? Anything one worships? Or does it have to be recognized as a deity by the worshipper? Does it have to be in stone or some tangible form? Or just in the mind of the person?

Does this mean we can only use God's name when speaking to Him or respectfully about Him? What qualifies as "wrongful use?"

Does killing people in another country because they are a threat to our country count as murder? Is it only unnecessary killing that counts as murder?

Is it stealing if your children are starving and you take food and don't hurt anyone?

Thou shalt not bear false witness

What if you believe what you're saying is true?
