Republicans continually accuse liberals of refusing to take responsibility
Now this democrat is accusing the republicans.

Whose responsibility is it to install safe rooms in schools in any state whose schools are in a area designated a tornado ally?
Is it the federal governments responsibility?
Is it the states responsibility?
Is the local cities responsibility?

Oklahoma is a red state that cries for states rights and less federal government. Yet
In the case of Moore Ok the city knew they needed safe rooms but didn't do any thing about it because they wanted the federal government to pay for something that was in my opinion their responsibility!! The Feds refused.
The state also knew safe rooms were needed yet did not fund for the need.
The state did nothing.
The city did nothing.

Along comes the second F4 or F5 tornado and the state and city finally get the federal government to pay for something that was their responsibility in the first place.

What would the death count have been if they had acted and paid for something that was their responsibility in the first place?

FEMA is a gov't program. That's a simple fact, my simple friend. The whole responsibility of FEMA is to respond and help fund things to do as much as possible to prevent as much damage or as many casualties as possible.

So, you're wrong. FEMA is federal, it's the feds job, they failed. And by the way, you can't whine about the Republicans in congress votes for Sandy or W's admin response to Katrina if you say it's not the feds responsibility.

The state and city did their part to help with tax rebates and incentives to people building shelters. It was FEMA's fault for putting the application on hold. That's a FACT I sourced.

It included millions for spending on other DEMOCRATIC pork barrel projects. "Democrats won't sink to that level." It was the Democrats who tried using the bill to get their spending passed. That's disgusting. Taking a bill that's supposed to be for storm relief and piling on their pet spending projects. That's low!

Your Democrats bloated the bill with a ton of pork, because they thought it would be passed with the storm relief. They didn't think Republicans would take the heat and defeat the bill in order to force Dems into cutting their waste from the bill.

I didn't hear your side saying this when year after year funds that went to New Orleans to sure up the levy when into the pockets of Democrat crooks.
