OK, How Did He hear our prayers?

In the Old Testament, how did God hear our prayers and know everything before we prayed for it? How did He always know what was going on? Where was He? Do you believe that God has always been inside of us, that He is the light and life of mankind and that without Him we would have no breath to breathe? He is the living water (air/breath) When God walked among His own and His own knew Him not, he spoke Aramaic Hebrew. The term spirit in Aramaic means breath. There is no translation for the term holy spirit. For God is both Holy and Spirit. He is also Father and Creator/Maker. Jesus is known as our huband and the church is His bride.
Isaiah 54:5--For thy Maker is thine husband, the Lord thy Redeemer the Holy one of Israel; The God of the whole Earth shall He be called.
This is the only place in the Old Testament where the word Redeemer is found.
There is no separate being that is the Holy Spirit. We recieve the GIFT of the truth through the risen saviour. Maybe we do at that moment of realization receive the gift of tongues. I have no such gift--I'm very lucky to be able to speak southern English. Not all receive the same gifts--1 Corinthians 12. And not all receive ALL the gifts. It says to pray that we reach Heaven lacking none of them.
God is spirit and those who worship Him, worship in spirit and in truth. For He is both Holy and Spirit--His is the spirit of love. John 4:24
God is love-1 John 4:8
The greatest is Love-1 Corinthians 13:13--Jesus is the greatest, and highest--He is God and God is love--He is the head, we are the body
The kingdom of God is within you--Luke 7:21
The kingdom of God comes not with observation--Luke 17:20
He will return like a thief in the night--2 Peter 3:10, Revelation 16:15
Yeshua Bless You

Re: OK, How Did He hear our prayers?

Sheila... one thing remains constant in the OT and the NT... and that is FAITH.

Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

How did the prayers of the OT get heard.... the main ingredient was FAITH! It takes that same FAITH today to have our prayers heard. Nothing has changed in that sense from the OT to the NT.

Read Hebrews 11 to see this being addressed.

Re: OK, How Did He hear our prayers?

As far as gods omniscience goes, I viewed it like a scientist and his robots. He can create a robot that runs 50,000 programs and set it to random (in our case "Free will".) Soon the robot starts making choices doing whatsoever it pleases because it is set to random, however... the scientist created this robot so no matter what it chooses to do, he still knows how the program will play out because he created it in the first place.

As far as no word for Holy spirit...
Rukha d'Qudsha (Koodsha)is how you would say "holy spirit" in Aramaic.
"Holy" is not an actual word in either Hebrew or Aramaic. It is a Greek word and therefore, would not have been used by the Jews of the time. "Qudsha" is a derivative of the word "Qadyish" which means "Set-Apart". "Rukha" means "Breath", "Wind" or "Spirit". It's pretty neat though that Aramaic is very close to the Hebrew like that. In Hebrew, it is said "Ruach HaKodesh". In both Hebrew and Aramaic, the word "Rukha d'Qudsha" means "Set-Apart Spirit". It also makes sense in an odd way to me how breath or wind would be tied to spirit.. look at demonic activity, demons have the power of suggestion and constantly whisper little things in our ear so softly that it seems as if we thought it ourselves.. I imagine that being like a soft breath or wind.

Re: OK, How Did He hear our prayers?

Thanks for the info. I don't know Hebrew or Aramaic at all. I was wrong about the word redeemer only being found in one place in the Old Testament. It's also found in Job. Don't know what I was thinking.

P.S. I appreciate when I'm corrected or things are added to.

Re: OK, How Did He hear our prayers?

Apparently "air" is a common Scriptural
euphemism for the Holy Spirit, also.

Yeah, and if you think about the day of Pentecost it ties in too.

Acts 2:2
"And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting."
