Barry (our old pastor) taught against any sexual relations on Sunday, or Saturday (because it was the night before Sunday) and any other day that services were held on. One young lady who had just gotten married a few months prior was talking to my wife about her internal torment for going against the pastors wishes when she and her husband got to "fooling around" one Sunday afternoon. She was actually feeling extreme guilt over having sex with her husband!

The flip side of his teaching was that sex's only purpose was for procreation. "Large families used to be the norm in the world and they still should be in the church!" This is the part were SisFalla usually gets peeved at me.

I guess the pastor never read:

Heb 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

1 Cor 7
4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

The couple actually get to decide when they want a "vacation" based on their own consent NOT their pastor.

If you're fasting, you just may not have the "energy"...lol.

His idea's are so far out of the (Christian!) norm that it was pretty well agreed that he was most likely fighting some deep personal demons on the subject of sex. Perhaps some past abuse or closeted feeling of homosexuality (JUST throwing reasons that could be -no idea either way).

Funny thing is. Within the hour after sitting through this class, we walked out and never returned, other than for a funeral many months later. A few families joined us but most stayed, even though they nearly all said they disagreed -at the time. Fast forward a few years later and the majority have come around to his way of thinking on the subject! (We know this because my wife has quite a few family members who go there.)

I've heard a lot of different teachings from "pastors" but this....well frankly... is just none of his business.

These people must have a very clean brain...he's such a good brainwasher.

I guess it's really not funny, but I can't help but think this is ridiculous.
