Obama the best thing for Bush's legacy?
I think Bush will go down in history as a very good president. I'm not foolish, not to I put alot of trust or faith in political leaders. I don't think GWB never made a mistake, or never sinned while in office. But I do think he was honest and sincere and spoke from the heart, even if the media abused him for it. Few people could have led the country in the difficult days of the Fall of 2001the way he did. I love that when he was asked what philospher had the biggest impact on his life, he said "Christ, because He changed my life" especially in light of Obama's pre-election flub "my MUSLIM faith" and didn't even realize it until the interviewed said "you mean your CHRISTIAN faith?".
Anyway, so I like Bush, voted for him twice. But I know that in his last months in office he was basically a hated man.
Two and half years have passed. We have been ravaged by lies, empty promises, and corrupt behavior, even by politicians standards. The economy is not showing any real signs of getting better, and FEW have confidence it will actually improve before the 2012 elections. Yet the democrats and some liberal media continue to blam this all on GWB. However, it is becoming more and more evident the longer time goes on, that the man who was all but hailed as the savior of the United states (if not the world) is increasing inept, and that indeed Bush wasn't as bad as most people were giving him credit for. And the longer this country treads water doing everything we can to prevent a total economic collapse, the more GWB's popularity rises with the population. So the question is, only in the terms of how history will come to see GWB, "Is Obama the best thing to ever happen to GWB's legacy?"
I say yes.
