Who are the elect of Matthew 24:29-31?
Who are these gathered immediately after the tribulation of those days?
They are the surviving believing mortal remnant of Israel who will enter and populate the Lord’s coming millennial kingdom on the earth
This gathering is not a resurrection to immortality .... and these are not of the Lord's church of today
Here is the proof text from scripture [ Isaiah 11; 27:13; Ezekiel 36; Zechariah 13:8-9; Romans 11:25-36]

I'd say they are simply the elect, those God has chosen. I do believe that, if the Futurist model is correct, a good percentage of them will be Jews.

"I'd say they are simply the elect, those God has chosen"
> Isaiah 11 and 27:13 specifically identify these believing mortal survivors of the tribulation period in Matthew 24:29-31 as national Israelites who will be gathered by the Lord's angels
>The balance of the gathering from the other gentile nations of the earth are identified in Matthew 25:31-46 .... this gathereing will include both believers [sheep] and non-believers [goats]

Re: Who are the elect of Matthew 24:29-31?
Nothing in Matthew 24 mentions a resurrection.
GATHERING PEOPLE was mentioned in CONTEXT in Matthew 23, one chapter earlier, and it never regarded a resurrection:
Matt 23:36Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. 37O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Matt 23 even mentioned the GENERATION that Matt 24 mentions!!!! Stick with context and find what the use of terms referred to earlier and see Matt 24 SHOWS AN ANTITHESIS, not something totally different in meaning than the same use of words earlier.
Matt 24:31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
34Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Compare Matt 23:36-37 where we read BOTH of generation and gathering together, and realize that the use of the SAME TERMS one chapter later, close in proximity as in Matt 23 proves that Matt 24 is showing an ANTITHESIS. WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN GATHERED in Matt 23 in THAT generation is not gathered but INSTEAD OTHERS ARE GATHERED in the same generation.
in other words, if Matt 23:37 was not a gathering in resurrection, then neither is Matt 24:31

Re: Who are the elect of Matthew 24:29-31?
The elect are the believers who were gathered when Jerusalem WOULD HAVE BEEN GATHERED and saved from destruction. A hen gathers her chicks when a storm comes. The gathering together in Matt 23:37 is the SAME SORT OF GATHERING TOGETHER in Mat 24:31. Gathering from destruction.

Re: Who are the elect of Matthew 24:29-31?
ADAM CLARKE ON THE ELECT of MATT 24:31
With a great sound of a trumpet - Or, a loud-sounding trumpet - the earnest affectionate call of the Gospel of peace, life, and salvation.
Shall gather together his elect - The Gentiles, who were now chosen or elected, in place of the rebellious, obstinate Jews, according to Our Lord’s prediction, Mat_8:11,Mat_8:12, and Luk_13:28,Luk_13:29. For the children of the kingdom, (the Jews who were born with a legal right to it, but had now finally forfeited that right by their iniquities) should be thrust out. It is worth serious observation, that the Christian religion spread and prevailed mightily after this period: and nothing contributed more to the success of the Gospel than the destruction of Jerusalem happening in the very time and manner, and with the very circumstances, so particularly foretold by our Lord. It was after this period that the kingdom of Christ began, and his reign was established in almost every part of the world.
