The Lucifer Spirit

Spirits always precede action. I wish I could forget the times I have seen a spirit of exaltation rise above the better man and sit on the throne. This is the Lucifer Spirit. Lucifer had an obsession to exalt his throne above the throne of God. Since his name meant light-bearer - could he possibly have been in charge of God’s universal lighting system? Since all of his pipes were in him (Ezekiel 28:13) from the day of his creation could it be he was also a worship leader? Anywhere there is light and worship there is fertile ground for the self-exalting authority-defying Lucifer Spirit. I just wish I could forget the times I’ve seen it.

I have often heard the words "satanic" and "devilish" and other similar terms of reference. Yet, for some reason, until recently I had never specifically considered "the Lucifer spirit." In my opinion, Satan's first name was Lucifer. He was one of God's mighty archangels. What kind of a spirit caused him to fall from such a lofty position? Can the Lucifer spirit surface in churches today?

Well worth reading........I read it twice!

I enjoyed reading this. I really like the third to bottom paragraph. So many times we really don't realize that God is working for us and if we would take a moment, step back and look, we might see this.

In one of his most recent books, Things I Wish I Could Forget, didn't Bro. Tenney use this line of thought in addressing the issues pastors have with "the musical kind"!

J/K Vicki! but I do think he applied this business with Lucifer and preeminence and all that stuff to problems he had had with music ministers.
