My Prediction

There is one thought I have had since Res 4 passed at the UPC GC that I have not seen expressed here by anyone.

I have a feeling that in order to mollify the fears of the conservatives in the UPC that passing Res 4 marks a liberal turn we are going to see a tactical move right in other areas the next few months by both officials at HQ and key players like AM who supported the res.

I can see especially hard "holiness" sermons forthcoming about uncut hair, makeup, jewelry, pants on women ,etc, etc from these key people seeking to ease fears of "going lib".

Much like Kenneth Haney's first few messages after being elected GS a few years ago. He hit all of the legalilsm laundry list in those sermons.

We actually discussed this same thing with someone this past weekend at the wedding at CC. I think you're right; the ones who stay will try to make sure everyone knows that they aren't letting down on the holiness standards so they will preach them pretty heavy for a while.

I don't doubt it at all. It's expected - for a while. Then things will settle back to normal but normal won't be exactly the same as normal before the passing of Resolutions #3 and #4. Not being critical here, merely speculating as CC1 is.

If they are going to do it then they need to hurry up. I really think you might see this but it will have no impact on me whatsoever. I think a lot of people preach holiness without preaching holiness. I hope that makes since.
