Starting Spanish Bible Study Night
¡Buenos días!
Yesterday our pastor asked me to consider starting a Spanish Bible study group on an off night at the church. We've been working with Spanish-speaking people in the area (of which there are many!) and this is the next step to our involvement. Does anyone have any experience in this area? We're hoping to get it going by October...I asked him to wait until after my kid is born so we won't have to skip any weeks. I'd love any information, Spanish Bible studies you may have, recommendations, and prayers! We'll probably have a little music, so any songs you've found to use would be great, too.

Follower of Jesus...
iGloria Dios! iGracias JesuChristo!
I know very little spanish anymore. I used to speak it quit well. I am planning on learning it again. I know sayings, phrases and certain words, but can not carry on a conversation in it anymore.
I am happy for you! Keep it up. My heart is in spanish ministry. God Bless you in that.

I'm so glad to hear you guys are willing to work with the Spanish community!
There is lots of literature out there in Spanish now! We were using the Purpose Driven home group study cirriculum. But there is alot out there just check the interenet. Go to your the site of your fav's and usually there is a Spanish page.
For music, a good place is mercadocrisitano.com
for chords and lyrics lacuerda.net
Any other ?'s feel free to contact me!

Thanks for those links...I didn't know about them. Have you found any oneness Bible studies in Spanish online? I'm slightly averse to paying for anything I don't have to I'm not much on following the curriculum exactly anyway, so I don't need their fancy charts, too much.

My husband doesn't like them either, he now is making his own. We just started a one month study on balancing our lives. Spiritual, Family and Secular. Just look at and speak of real life and what people are facing in this real world, then bring it back to word of God. We give everyone a chance to speak, we ask questions, and it is understood that we are not there to debate and no one has a wrong answer.

Have you thought about spending part of the time in a Bible study teaching English? That may attract more people to it. I briefly thought about it, but haven't had time to work out the details.
