Drug Use?

Rev 9:21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

I heard someone "teaching" on this scripture the other night. This man focused in his message on how this scripture said "they would not repent of their drug abuse". He even gave some translation from the Greek. However when I looked it up I can't find where any of these words translate to drug use. Am I missing something?

Witchcraft:
Paul in Gal_5:20 classes with uncleanness, idolatry, etc., what he calls pharmakeía (φαρμακεία), the King James Version “witchcraft” the Revised Version (British and American) “sorcery.” The word has reference first of all to drugs used in exercising the magical article Note the name Simon Magus, which = Simon the magician (Act_8:9 f), and Bar-Jesus, whom Luke calls a magician (μάγος, mágos, English Versions of the Bible, “sorcerer”) and to whom he gives also the proper name Elymas, which is really the Arabic ‛ālim = “learned,” and so one skillful in the magical article. See also under AMULET; CHARM; DEMONOLOGY; WITCHCRAFT.

Is that the meaning of it in this verse though? I keep finding most pointing to it meaning "magic" and "idolatry" for this verse.............

Gal 5:20 -
Witchcraft - Pretending to witchcraft. The apostle does not vouch for the actual existence of witchcraft; but he says that what was known as such was a proof of the corrupt nature of man, and was one of the fruits of it. No one can doubt it. It was a system of imposture and falsehood throughout; and nothing is a better demonstration of the depravity of the human heart than an extended and systematized attempt to impose on mankind. The word which is used here (φαρμακεία pharmakeia, whence our word “pharmacy,” from φάρμακον pharmakon, a medicine, poison, magic potion) means, properly, the preparing and giving of medicine. Then it means also poisoning, and also magic art, or enchantment; because in savage nations pharmacy or medicine consisted much in magical incantations. Thence it means sorcery or enchantment, and it is so used uniformly in the New Testament. It is used only in Gal_5:20; Rev_9:21; Rev_18:23; Rev_21:8. Some have supposed that it means poisoning here, a crime often practiced; but the more correct interpretation is, to refer it to the black art, or to pretensions to witchcraft, and the numerous delusions which have grown out of it, as a striking illustration of the corrupt and depraved nature of man.

Define magic.

In all verses this word means what it is defined to mean it seems

Vines
<2,,5333,pharmakos>
an adjective signifying "devoted to magical arts," is used as a noun, "a sorcerer," especially one who uses drugs, potions, spells, enchantments, Rev_21:8, in the best texts (some have pharmakeus), and Rev_22:15.

Zodhaites

Until Hypocraties sorcery was the way medical issues were handled
for those who did not trust God.He is the one who took medicine out of the
arena of witchcraft and brought it to light as a science. Its interesting and I
hope I can later when I get up from my nap find the evidence proving that
he though was known as a Greek had a Jewish mother.I read it in an apostolic
preachers book but I don't remember the reference.
Anyway he also related the the scripture says that Salvation is of the Jews
could be also looked at in this way.
It is important to realize that the woman with the issue of blood and many in the New Testament had gone to many physicians and nothing could
be done for them. There was no cures for many forms of what Jesus healed in
the N.T. such as blindness. There were no hearing aides for the deaf
or cataract surgeries. Its amazing the knowledge that we use every day
that could only be inspired by the one who made us and to those whom
he revealed it.Awesome! Nursing used to be known as the ministry of nursing.
Medicine was looked at as a ministry.Doctors were given great respect and
those who worked in this field had to meet moral obligations as well
as knowledge.
In just the field of nursing you years ago used to not be allowed to be married
if you practiced.
