Can someone please clarify Resolution #3

My husband just received his resolution packet in the mail. What is this resolution #3 about? We can't fellowship with any minister that is questionable and that has withdrawn from UPCI?

Just want to be clear on this one before my feathers get ruffled.

Is someone trying to control your pulpit, Darse?

The resolution was discussed here ....

You bring up a very good point .... however ... about the resolutions that have arrived .... some of them are outlandish ... except for #4, of course.

Is there one there defining what a teacher is? Perhaps you can post that one also ... it's very interesting ...

Pretty much in a nut shell is if someone is dropped or even in some cases (Triumpant1) turns in their license they can be put into this "questionable" status. Basically it states that you can not fellowship, preach for and have them preach for you. The only exception is for a wedding or and funeral. T1's situation is interesting. There is a thread out there that discusses this in greater length, but the truth is that it is a crock. IMO.

I feel it is a way to control the "organization" instead of letting it be the "fellowship" it was intended to be. It is some what of a way to protect the local UPC church incase something happens. The real intent is to help the UPC churches during scandals of sex or money. It is meant to protect the ministers and churches in the UPC. But sometimes it is not always that way.

Hope this does not ruffle your feathers. But if it does then join the party!

Yeah, its so wordy.... something about if you claim to be teacher you should be affliated or accountable to your district.

Well, first what number is this teacher resolution?

Second, what are some of the stated reasons for this resolution?
