Is This Environment Wholesome?
Three questions.
1. Is it good for pastors and saints to have the level of discussion and familiarity that is present on AFF?
2. Does it lead to an overall lack of respect for ministry in general?
3. Should the ministers who post on AFF move to ministers only forums?

1. Generally, yes.
2. If there is a lack of respect it comes from, in my opinion, seeing the lack of compassion for real problems that real people have.
3. I think pastors should do both.

1. Yes. I think it can lead to insight and understanding on both sides.
2. No.
3. Of course not.

1. Very healthy in general - this admittedly may be a bit more complicated if one is interacting with a real-life assembly member.
2. It could... but need not. It is interesting you ask it this way... the general membership deserves the same respect in Christ as do ministers.
3. Me thinks posting on both would be healthy.

I would think the answer to this would be one of those 'beauty in the eye of the beholder' thing.
What is 'wholesome' to one, may not be to another.
What one brother can handle, the next may not.

I think that the communication is healthy in this forum. The dialog has helped me understand some aspects of the ministry I had not thought about. I also, think that the ministry's understanding may have benefited. So, overall I think that open lines of communication - is a very healthy thing. The administration seem to work at keeping everyone respectful, which also helps the lines of communication.

1. Only if truth will stand up to scrutiny
2. Only if the ministry is an aristocracy and the rest of the people are peasants.
3. Only if they think they are better than the lowly peasants.
