Must read article on the religion of "science"
http://www.zengardner.com/scientism-the-jokes-on-you/
Seriously, this is an awesome accounting of where "modern progress" and the "scientific establishment" actually stand.

Re: Must read article on the religion of "science"
I work in a hi tech dairy. I process whey protein isolates. Everything about the job process is scientific: the processes, the testing, the tools, the understanding of the dairy chemistry, etc.
In no way, shape or form does my scientific job conflict with my faith in God.

Re: Must read article on the religion of "science"
Science itself is not anti-faith. In fact, most scientists throughout history have - if not been devout Christians - at least acknowledged God as creator. However, many modern day scientists treat it as a religion, even while dismissing religion and faith as anti-science.

hmm, as a raw milk aficionado, i could possibly present some general arguments there, although they might not apply to you specifically, but the industry. Not entirely sure of my ground there though...

There is a true science.
1Ti 6:20....O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

i agree. while i also agree with the tone of the article, i have some objections, but again i'm not sure of my ground, as i would surely be engaging in the justifications the article discusses. Carbon dating, for instance--despite its known shortcomings, radioactive carbon has a defined half-life, so proper procedure and practice should elicit meaningful data. I'm not sure what those procedures etc are, though.
loved how the article attacked presuppositions of definitions, though, wish he'd have gone into that more.

Science without God resulted in Facism and Communism.
Both were abject failures, but we still live with some of their principles which somehow survived.
I have started noticing more and more people "twisting" science to make it fit their worldview.
Makes me wonder what the next "ism" will be called, before it flames out.
