Back when Bill Clinton was president, he used to go jogging in the mornings in the streets of DC near the white house. One day he happened upon a small boy sitting in front of his house with wagon full of tiny puppies. He had a sign that read "Free Puppies" attached to the wagon. The president stopped and asked the boy what kind of puppies they were. The little boy straightened proudly and answered, 'why, they're DEMOCRAT puppies, sir!'

That whole week, the president would jog past the same house, and there was the same boy, with the same puppies, and the same reply.
The president was so taken with this that he talked about this to all of his acquaintences. Newt Gingrich would not believe him, so the president proposed a little wager. Newt went jogging with the president.

They came across the little boy and the wagon of puppies, in their usual spot. President Clinton asked the boy once again, 'what kind of puppies are those, young man?' The little boy, looking prouder than ever, straightened himself tall and answered, 'They're REPUBLICAN puppies, sir!' The president was beside himself. Newt was chuckling, and straining not to laugh out loud.
"but yesterday you said they were DEMOCRAT puppies!" the president exclaimed.
"Yes," said the boy, "but this morning they all opened their eyes!"
