Churches Beware Ad Supported Streaming Media

I just had an interesting thing happen. I went to a UPC church website I had not gone to before and in their media area clicked to see a recent service.

Before the video stream for the service came up there was first an advertisement, just like you would see on a lot of secular webcasts.

The first tv commercial was for eharmony, the dating service!

After watching a few minutes of that service I clicked on another one and once again a tv commercial came up preceding the beginning of the webcast.

This time the tv commerical was for Moromons!!!! LOL!!

If you are a church tempted to save a few bucks by using a free media streaming service please check and see exactly what this means and if it means you have no control over the advertising content then perhaps you should just forego streaming.

I was tempted to keep clicking on services to see if a Victoria Secret's commercial might come up but then I thought better not.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Churches Beware Ad Supported Streaming Media

eharmony is pretty tame, but as for Victoria Secrets, the only time I ever go into that store is when my wife drags me in! All that pink makes me sick to my stomach!

Now seeing a GoDaddy ad would have been hilarious! "Everyone wants to work in marketing...!"
