There's an App for That! - Social Media Leash

Do you have a smartphone? If so, do you have social media apps (such as Twitter, Facebook, etc) a click away on the display for easy access?

If not, but are still among the social media crowd, do you access them via a computer or lap top only?

Sometimes I find myself thinking and re-thinking the whole social media landscape, what it's good for, and how much time is involved in it.

On one hand, I'm a research nut; when I find that some of my favorite sites are on Facebook or Twitter, I'm sure to click away and follow. To have the ability to click and view right away on my phone makes for finding out info much easier.

On the other hand, there's the friends and family. They like to know what's going on with me, and I like to know what's going on with them. Although I've scaled back on who I'm connected with, there's still others I could trim back.

I check both throughout the day since I have both apps on my phone, especially Twitter for when severe weather hits the area. I also follow people of Faith worthy of the connection. Since I'm constrained to a computer for work, I'd rather not be while scouring through social media. But, sometimes, I do it anyway.

"Leash" might be taken the wrong way, but that's not my intent. So, what say ye? Social media or not? App or no app on your phone?

And, as I learned recently, you're not so ancient after all. I'm still laughing at that...

Angry Birds. I just risked myself with that yesterday. Pretty interesting...

Lux I'm not familiar with at all; I've never heard of it 'til you mentioned it...
