Commitment

I just I have a question for the audience......

Why do so many people who go to church enjoy just sitting on the sideline....Never want to get in the game, never want to take the ball and run. They just simply want to enjoy their little corner of heaven and "Wait upon the Lord".

Rarely active in worship
Rarely active in a helping hand
Attend 90% of the functions but oft times take the "Hands off approach"

Why settle for less when God can bless?

Thoughts?

Why did Eleven Disciples stay in the boat and only one walked on the water?

I can't answer that question..........My family and I get in and do it...from giving our all in worship and praise, singing, playing instruments, cooking, baking, teaching ss school, teaching christian school, and yes even cleaning the toilet! God is our life and I enjoy every aspect of it!!! Who wants to sit on the sidelines? Not I!!!

I only get involed if I can be in the spot light and take all of the credit for the move of God in the service, because I am awesome like that.

I think partly because they are used to being told what to do.

There become progammned followers.

If someone/anyone were to ask them to close a service with a prayer.

Maybe call them one on one once in a blue moon.

There is more to a butt being stuck to a pew, then just good folks wanting to sit and do nothing.

Many of these individuals are involved in very professional careers.

They have so much to offer, but many times they are not asked their opinions.

Many times they carry talent, experience and business building practices, that could help thier local assembly.

The question for this post should be.....

How many actually flat out turn down offers brought to them.

See they are never asked in many cases...

The good motivator or business man is usually the man who's church grow's accordingly.

Maybe because only one was asked to step out of the boat. Want folks to do things in the church ask them once and a while.... Ask them what they think and would they like to be involved in......

Noone should ever be asked to worship....We worship and praise God for who he is and what he has done and is doing for us...... ......... ..............
Maybe people should just try jumping in and helping.. When it comes to dinners and such, those running it sometimes get tired of asking because they hear the same excuses...over and over... If you jump in and say, hey, I'll make this and I clean up that, more than likely someone is going to say thank you and appreciate that.

Now when it comes to talent such as singing or playing instruments....one needs to let the pastor or whoever know that they ARE available with as few exceptions as possible...... if then you aren't used, which I have seen before many a time, ............just keep on living for God and don't get discouraged...But no one can stop any one from worshipping except oneself.

Once Jesus asks one time that should be sufficient.

Further, He said "What thank have ye if ye do those things which are expected?" Too many people today are waiting for "atta boys" and when they don't get them they turn into pew potatoes. I realize we should "give honor where honor is due." But if I never receive one pat, what I continue to do or not to do, says a good bit about my real relationship with God.
