Kudos to the UPC

I have been seen as anti-UPC but I want to congradulate those who belong in this they put a church in one day close by about 50 miles and it made every paper around here. A very good service and compliment to Pentecost in general.

They originally were going to do the church-in-a-day program as a modular church built in Arkansas I believe. Interstate shipping and rising costs meant that my friend in Laconia, NH simply received $50,000. Still a great thing as an alternative to the JW's who routinely build their buildings in a single day.

Rally for the community and usually some great press at something new and exciting compared to dull, dead, boring churches!

When I lived in Texas I went to Brother Barentine's church for a time.

I am pretty sure that his was the first "church in a day" and it was an amazing thing to see.

I remember sometime after that I think they built one in the Katy area of Houston.

I am pretty sure that the CIAD churches are required to be affiliated... not positive... that's another subject for another thread though.

Digging4Truth,

If I am not mistaken the first "Church in a Day" was built in Mineola, Tx

where Bro. IAintMovin's father pastors. In fact, if I remember correctly

it was the first one built by the UPC in the United States.

Maybe Bro. IAintMovin can see this and correct me if this is not fact.

Blessings,

Falla39

It could very well be.

It seemed like I had heard that but I definitely do know for sure.

Perhaps it was the first one in Texas or something.

Or... maybe I'm just nuts.

All are very real possibilities.
