Arizona Rancher Ordered to Pay $87,00 to Undocumented Guests (Illegal Aliens)

Okay, it’s official…NOW I’ve heard it all.

The U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld a lower court verdict ordering U.S. citizen and Arizona rancher (property owner) to pay damages of $87,000 for holding a group of illegal aliens at gunpoint back in 2004. On his own property. In defense of his own home.

Picture this. You own your own place. Worked hard to get it, but you did it. You’re a rancher in Arizona, or Texas, or New Mexico or any place in the good ol’ USA and then people start coming onto your property without your permission. We used to call that trespassing. We used to consider it a big deal. Like the sovereignty of our nation.

I think he is going about it the wrong way.

Re: Can You Believe This?

Look...I can understand the desire to want to better your family..I mean if I wasnt American I'd be wanting to come here as well...that being said this man was just protecting his property and his life.I've already read stories about middle eastern passports being found where they were discarded at the border from sneaking over. With all the drug smuggling going on some people wouldnt give a moments though of shooting this man if he got in the way. They have no respect for this man of his property. He should be allowed to defend it just like any of us would do.

Hey, that is not very Christian to say!
I do understand the feeling.

It is disgusting that we now have courts that declare that black is white, right is wrong, that the immoral is moral, and the illegal is legal. I feel almost as if I have stepped through into another dimension where everything is reversed.

I think that it is time that we cease to trust in the Constitution to protect us and start appealing to the Highest Supreme Court of Appeals.

The Ninth Circuit should be abolished, and the Congress has the authority to do so. But I won't hold my breath.

They are a bunch of idiots. but lets not abolish that court just yet.

Lets get Chris Christy elected in 2012 then do it.

the supreme court has done some unexpected work of late regarding the 9th.

they unanamously overturned a number of their rulings. I will try to find that link.

The Ninth is overturned more than any other circuit, I believe. Yes, the SC is doing pretty well in that regard.
