To all the mosque apologists

To all the people who think that a Mosque should be built anywhere near ground zero. Chew on this, is there a shinto(sic)? shrine at the USS Arizona site ? I think not. Case closed.

Well, I have to say that I saw plenty of Japanese tourists taking pictures...

That isn't even a relevant question since Park51 isn't AT Ground Zero. It is 2 blocks away and around a corner.

It's all relative when one has their mind made up beyond repair.

Well, I think it would be a great gesture of love and reconciliation if we took our tax dollars and built a Shinto shrine at that site. The shrine could have a meditation room with murals all around of some of the scenes of destruction of the ships sinking in the harbor and the damaged buildings and U.S. aircraft. Also, a full size replica should be built of a Japanese bomber and placed inside the building or on the grounds.

Maybe it's my age (will be 73 years old before the end of the year); maybe it's the color of the back of my neck (I live about 25 miles from Kentucky); maybe it's my education (1 year Bible College, 1 year secular college --no degree); maybe it's my religious beliefs (Apostoloc Pentecostal); but I do not think it is a good idea to allow Muslims to build a monument to their victory at the site of a successful Islamic attack on the great satan (U.S.A.)

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

"Case Closed" unless you care about law, order, constitutional rights, liberty, and the ability to think.

I don't think any of us believe that the Muslims are prohibited by the U.S. constitution to build a building designated for religious assembly there. This goes beyond their constitutional right. This is perceived (rightly or not) to be an "in your face" memorial to their victory over the U.S. there. Even the name that was originally proposed for the center (Cordoba) carried that implication.
