Isn't Jesus, in a hugely symbolic way, a lawyer 'representing' us? Even the worst among us that 'we' wouldn't give the time of day to?

Re: The Good Thing About Lawyers is...
Lawyers aren't all bad. Just all the ones I've ever met or heard of of.
The typical problem with lawyers, as Dennis Prager has said a few times and I agree with, is that they are trained and perverted to think in terms of what is legal...not what is right. They are NOT the same thing.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried. There are courts called Courts of Chancery or equity. In most U.S. States these have been merged with the court of law.
One of the last requests I make, right after the request for the judge to order the other side to pay attorney fees, is that they be awarded any other relief the Court considers fair and proper.
I filed a motion yesterday the principle argument was, "in the interest of Justice", because there was no law to support it. I expect the judge will grant my motion based on what is right.
When evaluating a prenup the case law says, "Is it fair".
Because in most states these courts are merged and what you may see as only an argument from the law often contains an argument for doing what is right, we call it Justice.
