McCain Refuses to Endorse Palin in 2012
This Week with George Stephanopolos recently had John McCain as the guest. During the interview Stephanopolos asked McCain if he would support Sarah Palin if she ran for President in 2012. Here is what was said:
STEPHANOPOULOS: You said, after the election, that Governor Palin has a bright future in your party. Does that mean that, if she does chooses to run for president, she can count on your support?
MCCAIN: Oh, no. Listen, I have the greatest appreciation for Governor Palin and her family, and it was a great joy to know them. [..]But I can't say something like that. Just a month ago McCain said Palin was the best choice to run the country should something happen to him if elected President. Now, a few weeks later, he already won't endorse her in 2012?? It sure appears the claims that McCain and his camp was not too happy with Palin was true.
You can see the interview HERE.

TKB,
Of course McCain is NOT going to endorse Palin ahead of time. I listened to the interview. That is the norm. Why, when others are making their way on the scene would he endorse her ahead of time - set the deal, keep the focus on her? It's just not done.
I didn't hear or see anything in the interview that gives the impression of him turning on her. If it is viewed in that way, it's need to be reviewed again.

Palin isn't all she's cracked up to be. Aside from that, it'd be pretty dumb of McCain to endorse somebody who isn't even running yet and so far out in advance. You never know what may happen between now and then and his endorsement may come back and bite him if he does it too soon.

McCain didn't indicate that he would even consider Palin. That speaks volumes if you're willing to listen.
Palin had her 15 minutes...

I listened to it twice. I didn't get the impression he was turning on her. Is that what you are implying?

Where is something out of the norm here, TKB? I don't see him saying what you just said - that he wouldn't consider her. He is giving a standard non-committal answer. He's saying it's too far ahead and there are others to consider. That's what he is supposed to say.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Let me switch to the politics of the Republican Party. You said, after the election, that Governor Palin has a bright future in your party. Does that mean that, if she does chooses to run for president, she can count on your support?
MCCAIN: Oh, no. Listen, I have the greatest appreciation for Governor Palin and her family, and it was a great joy to know them. She invigorated our campaign. She was just down in Georgia and invigorated their campaign. But I can't say something like that. We've got some great other young governors. I think you're going to see the governors assume a greater leadership role in our Republican Party. Pawlenty, Huntsman...
STEPHANOPOULOS: But why not? (inaudible) she was the best person...
MCCAIN: Sure. Yes.
STEPHANOPOULOS: ... to succeed you if something had happened to you?
MCCAIN: But now we're in a whole election cycle. Have no doubt of my admiration and respect for her and my view of her viability, but at this stage, again...
(CROSSTALK)
MCCAIN: ... my corpse is still warm, you know?
(LAUGHTER)

Re: McCain Refuses to Endorse Palin in 2012
I just think this is another angle to suggest that there was secret battle going on between Palin & McCain. To reveal McCain's true feelings about Palin. It makes the viewer think, oh He really didn't like her...or some other negative innuendo.
I just wish they all would move on, the election is over.....

LOL! I've never had an argument with him. Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep a glass eye on him from now on.
