Different Wedding

We just had a couple get married at our church and they took communion and were BAPTIZED at their wedding! I had never seen anyone do that before, but I thought it was a great way to start off their marriage!!

Kind of messes up the wedding pictures though.

Re: Different Wedding

Lol!

Well, there's a new fad going around now during the summer. They get married in the backyard and then trash the dress in the pool after the wedding.

Maybe they were just putting a spiritual application to the new fad.

Was "White wedding" playing while this was going on?

I have seen a couple get married and during the wedding take communion. I liked it.

Re: Different Wedding

I guess my first question was did they need to be baptized at this time? Or were they being re-baptized as part of the ceremony?

We're they allowed to jump in the baptism tank together?

They are new to our church, coming (I think) from a Church of Christ background. They just wanted to start out fresh together, I think - make a new commitment to the Lord through baptism.

They wouldn't both fit in the tank at the same time, although that might have been a nice touch. LOL

They take communion at Catholic weddings all the time. Funerals too

Re: Different Wedding

Most of the weddings we've done in the past 5-6 years have had communion at them. I think it's kind of been a trend that's caught on around here anyway, and I think it's sweet. But I'd never seen a baptism at a wedding before; I just thought that was ultra-cool.

By the way, this was not a first-time wedding for either the bride or groom; they are probably late 30's.

Re: Different Wedding

I think that was sweet...
I am so tired today from yesterday´s wedding at our church here...it lasted forever! Weddings in these foreign lands are much longer than in the states...and lol at their receptions...well...that is something else...
