Lost My Seat At Church

This is one Sunday I can't blame my wife for me being late to church since she is out of town. I like getting here early but events conspired to make me about a minute late.

Being a minute late at Christ Church Nashvilile generally means sitting in the balcony if you don't want to disrupt service for the few seats left on the main floor.

Today it also meant not even a balcony seat but one of the hundred or so chairs spread across the back of the balcony for overflow.

By 20 minutes into service those were 100% full also. I saw people leaving because of no seats so I vacated mine and I am now watching the sermon in the bookstore on a monitor while using one of the computer stations to post!

Next Sunday I had better get here really early or no seat for sure. I don't know why CC doesn't have an extra service beyond the 6:15 am Sunrise service on Sunday so we could better accomodate those making their once or twice a year visit to church.

In any case thank heavens for technology or I would not be enjoying the service right now or typing this!

IF they had some real preaching there would be plenty of seats.

I didn't get to sit in the main area of the sanctuary this morning...wait...I never get to on Sunday mornings.

I play the bass here in Greenfield. We are guitar player heavy, so I seldom get to play my instrument of choice. So, when I am done on the platform, it is back to the sound room to make sure our cd master is recording the service (we don't record to tape anymore at all, but still can). From there, it is back to do my work as Sunday School Director, counting the students and back to my office to tally it all. Back to the sound booth for the remainder of the service. No bookstore, or coffee shop, but I do stay busy.

YEP -

It was a short service for us today -

We try real hard to dismiss by 2:30 PM
since we stopped having Sunday School -
{so folks can get back by 6:00 PM}

We always start the sunday evening services at 6:00 PM
so that we can be thru by 10:30/11:30 -
-

{you know how that there are always some 'Clock Watchers'}
