Post Election Thoughts

What does "we as a people will get there" mean?

That was part of Obama's speech last night.

My question exactly.

He is not proud of America.

he believes American is a big screw up as a whole and thinks his election is the first step in fixing what ails us...

I'm not being biased here or trying to sound racist but IMO the only ones with "civil rights issues" are the minorities.

Where is this great oppression and big resistance that's been holding an entire race back? I've seen equal rights available to any and everyone willing to do what it takes to obtain them.

He, and his supporters see his election as a chance to finally "fix" everything.

Re: Post Election Thoughts

The Lord woke me up with this song I heard Mickey Mangun sing years ago. This is the only part of the song I can remember:

Long and Winding Road

Long and winding road keep on leading me
Up ahead I see a sign that tells me
You're heading straight for your victory
I know I must be traveling right
For I remember passing Calvary
Although it's dusty and it's old
For years it's borne the travelers load
Someday this road will turn to gold
And for some this road's already turned to gold
For me someday this road will turn to gold

This is all that matters to me today!

Re: Post Election Thoughts

You've got to understand the mind of a liberal. The last eight years have been insufferable for them. An openly Christian president who has been strong on national defense, appointed strict constructionist justices, cut taxes, grew the economy from the last recession he inherited from Clinton until recently, a man who didn't poll popular opinion to decide what to do, a man who wasn't fornicating in the Oval Office, a man who did not suck up to the Hollywood activists, a man who made decisions and stayed the course in order to achieve the goal, a man who signed restrictive laws on late term abortions, a man who opposed gay marriage, a man who forced public school teachers to be accountablen etc.

In their worldview, the country has been torn apart because of these and other issues. It is divided because of traditional values and faith and Judeo-Christian morality. Now they talk national unity, and healing and coming together, but that will only come with conditions. They will do what they want and expect for the rest of the 46% of Americans who rejected BO as president to go along for the ride, be silent and accept the will of the people.

Brighter days are ahead. Our nation is in bad shape. We now have a chance for salvation. Its all rhetoric. There may be some token gestures at appearing bi-partisan, but new presidents know if one is going to get much done they have to do it the first year b/c the midterms turn everything political.

I will pray for BO, in fact I have already, but strap on your seatbelts, 2009 is going to be a ride.

My guess is that they are not happy with Americas leaders and not so much to people in America. Just a thought

The hardcore rap music station in DC was playing Gospel music this morning!

There are smiles all over the place, Black and White.

This is an AMAZING day! GOD has smiled on America once again!

God bless the USA!

God removeth kings and setteth up kings.

Everything is working according to His plans.

The "world" does not realize what is going on, but we as Christians do.

Let's keep our Trust in He holds the world in the palm of His Hand.....looking up as our redemption draws nigh!!

National unity is a ridiculous idea, complete unity requires that someone drop their values. Since liberals don't believe in absolutes, they have no problems swinging with the wind, and they cannot comprehend anyone that has values that are unchangeable.

You are right they cannot understand GWB at all, they love the darkness because their deeds are evil. Bush is not perfect but he has stood tall against evil, if the Demos dismantle the military it will be a very dangerous world.

I understand that human rule will not bring about the righteous of God, but we need leaders that really care about the defense and protection of the nation. I do not trust the Demos in this area at all, to say nothing of the social issues.

I pray that God will give BO wisdom beyond his training, and he will have the courage to stand against his party. Maybe the true black church will bend his ear, like a black grandmother rebuking her children for their sinful ways.
