8th grade textbook has Barack Obama chapter

8th grade textbook has Barack Obama chapter in Racine, Wis.

October 16, 2008
FROM ASSOCIATED PRESS

MADISON, Wis. — The Racine school district’s use of an eighth grade textbook that includes a chapter on Democrat Barack Obama but nothing on his opponent John McCain is unfair and troubling, the Wisconsin Republican Party argued Thursday.

A parent complained on an Internet blog about the textbook that includes a chapter on Obama called ‘‘Dreams from My Father.’’

The school district said in a statement that it has received no complaints about the book, which it first used last school year. Even so, the 21,000-student district said it was reviewing its policies regarding the book’s use in a literature class.

It shouldn't be troubling.

Whether Sen. Obama wins or loses, he has already made history.

However, I wonder when the textbook was actually written and how did Sen. Obama become a text book subject so quickly.

He only made history this summer.

Re: 8th grade textbook has Barack Obama chapter

I would see a problem if the story were about his candidacy for President and then nothing was included about McCain...

But it appears to be about his book...

If that is what it is about then there is no requisite inclusion of an article about McCain.

Next up will be the statue in Washington DC right next to Abraham Lincoln's...
and then comes the holiday: National Dali Bama Day.

I agree, and even if it were about the election, he has made history there as well.

Yeah... McCain is definitely not the first old white guy to be the presidential candidate of the republican party. LOL
