Pastor's wife beaten by disturbed young man

Please pray for Pastor Neil Honea's wife of Deeper Life United Pentecostal Church in Hueytown, AL. When she went to take this young man something to eat at his house, she was held hostage by him for two days during which time she was stabbed more than fifty times with an ink pen, and beaten from head to toe, eyes swollen shut. She has staph infection from the stab wounds and has already had to undergo two surgeries. They had been trying for more than two years to help this young man who suffers from paranoid schitzophrenia and manic episodes.

Lord have mercy! And some folks think you can do anything and God will protect you from any harm coming to you. You have to use wisdom!

Praying God will her her body and her mind. This can cause undue fear of others.

Praying. What a horrible story. I hope this is a cautionary story that once again will reinforice why NEVER should a woman be going to visit people alone.

I know she had the best of intentions but you just can't do that alone this day and age.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

This is horrible. I will be praying for her and her family. I also think placing blame on her is not helpful.
