Baptist & Disciples of Christ Invitations
A month ago our young people conducted a service called "360" in which they featured the Lifehouse song and skit "Everything". There was a strong touch of the Holy Ghost in the service with over 150 in attendance. About 50% of the crowd was not from our church. The altar was filled with weeping young men and ladies seeking God. It was really powerful.
A couple of youth pastors from a local Baptist church were in attendance and were really touched by the Spirit. One communicated to our student pastor that he had been feeling like that although he had been Baptist all his life, there was more for him and he was hungry for it. He felt like what he experienced that night was what he had been looking for.
His church is conducting a special youth weekend and he invited our drama team to come and minister the same song/skit at their event in Feb. 29!
Last Sunday night our student ministry conducted another "360" service with the theme "Idescribable". The theme was all about the greatness of God in connection with the mind boggling expanse of the universe and His great love for us, though small and insignificant by comparison. Another good crowd, there was man visiting that was a member of a Disciples of Christ church and he was moved by the worship and the Spirit. He told us that he had been wanting to do a service at his church about the greatness of God but didn't know how to go about it and had been praying for God to give him direction.
After the service he invited us to come and conduct the same service at their church! We are really excited!
There has rally been a great spirit in our services since the first of the year. We ended 2007 with a 162 average. January was our best ever in seven years with a 172 average and this month we are averaging 192 after three Sundays with one to go. Two Sundays ago we had 222. We have only broken 200 when it was Easter, Mother's Day, Anniversary Homecoming or some other special event or holiday. Last Wednesday we baptized one of our new members.
God is good and we thank Him for blessing our labors!
