Western District to split North and South

Anyone hear news on this? A third possibility is North, Central and South...three districts.

Personally I think splitting it North and South is a great idea. As it is, for many Western district churches, it's impossible to travel 6 hours more or less every year to a camp meeting.

It will also afford a new redrawing of the sections. AS it is, our section stretches from Thousand Oaks all the way up to Paso Robles (or somewhere up there)...it's probably a 4 hour drive from one end to another and yet other churches nearby like Simi Valley...about 1/2 hour away, is not in our district

I don't think so. From what I understand both south and north churches pretty much want this...in fact if I heard right the North churches may petition to split from the central churches too.

Personally the only churches in my area I think won't like it are the few UC churches that have their own fellowship going anyways.

You mean within each district? I mean that could happen even with out a split.

Those that are power hungry will see a fresh opportunity .... now that constituencies will shift .... in the two or three new districts ... it's inevitable Prax .... it's not to say that this will not be beneficial ... but there are political realities that one cannot ignore.

There is no one in the WD that is power hungry!
That's why such sweet unity currently exists.
