Hurt by a "friend"

I donīt have the time right now but someone asked me what to do when they had been deeply hurt by someone they considered a friend.
I thought some might post suggestions and maybe late tonight after church I can write a letter to the person.
I do have my own thoughts about it but we learn from others so maybe you can post some thoughts here to help me help a hurting person. Thanks

You can't be in the ministry very long without that happening to you. When it has happened to me (more than once ) I have prayed for the Lord to bless that person abundantly. Not the way I want to see them blessed, but the way the Lord wants to see them blessed. A wound is still a wound and it still hurts, but praying blessings on those who have hurt you goes a long way to keeping you developing bitterness toward the person.

Actually, you can't even be a member of the body of Christ very long without this happening to you.

Ironically enough I am absolutely astounded at the way pastors have the ability to forgive folks...(notice I said Pastor, pastor's families are very very different in this regard ). So with the standard of forgiveness set SO high, it is difficult for me to harbor a bad spirit toward someone because I know there is a man who has been drug through the mud yet he has the ability to maintain his love for those people time and again.

One pastor told me that he has a good "Forgetter" I wish I could say the same and I wish God would grant that very thing to those who I offend by accident.

Sometimes it's just a miscommunication or misunderstanding... I always suggest communication...it works...

The best thing that they can do is get their thumb our of their mouth and quit feeling sorry for themselves as though their Lord was never hurt or wounded in the house of his friends.

There is no room in the battle for those so easily hurt. Take you licks and stay in the battle for the Lord. The Lord will send someone by your side when you need it the most to encourage you and help when the battle gets the hottest.

I am very familiar with one church, the constant theme is "Do not be offended...those who are offended, burn...and they were not offended."

I recently met up with a young fella who attended that church and I just let him talk, he made the comment, "If they (the church/pastor/etc.) would stop offending people, maybe they wouldn't have to preach so much on not being offended!"

Well, sometimes this is not the best approach either, telling someone to just, "Take the thumb out of their mouth, grow up, get the Holy Ghost, you just need to pray through..." are not sufficient enough, sometimes there are very deep issues that need to be dealt with, and suppressed and ignored issues are not issues solved.

I always take a step back and let the situation rest for a period of time.

The best thing is not to react to quickly.

Never and I mean never, tell anyone about the circumstances or the situation.

I been through situations and over time came through them with a stronger friendship.

With all that said, there are situations where being friends again is not an option.

In all of that pray hard as well.

that is what I told the person ...never make a decision when you are hurt or angry.
