I felt REALLY good about this response about the "AS"

Just thought I would throw this in......It may cause a firestorm but here goes.

I placed a call this morning to an "official" and asked this question.

When are you in violation of the Affirmation Statement?

He said the purpose of the AS was for the purpose of unity on the Acts 2:38 message and the Might God in Christ ONLY!

He said that has been the problem with the AS....that some took it farther than it was intended and used it to say that we all ageed on every jot and tittle of the Manual concerning "standards" and the do's and Dont's.

THAT is why, he explained, Bro Urshan sent out the letter saying the local church was still calling the shots and the district COULD NOT step in and challenge a man. "It gave no added power to the District".

So......I found this very interesting.

It seems to me that this is a very common opinion and is only as controversial as your "official" is controversial.

Ministers Affirmation

I (Minister's name), do hereby declare that I believe and embrace the Fundamental Doctrine as stated in the Articles of Faith as set forth in the Manual of the United Pentecostal Church International. I also believe and embrace the holiness standards of the United Pentecostal Church International as set forth in said Articles of Faith, and I pledge to practice, preach and teach the same.

Now this is very plain that the minister agree's to practice, preach, and teach what is inside the articles of faith. Integrity and honesty would demand that any man that signs this do just that. Maybe not every service, but I do not think with good conscience a man could sign and not have at least hit on the articles at one time or another in a given year.

NOW Look what is in those articles you feel so good about......

St. Matt, what are you doing? You'll just confuse the matter with all of that nonsense.

Hey, I did learn a while back that the AS only applies to the Articles of Faith, so a man having license with the UPCI and owning a tv is not practicing perjury when he signs.

He is however being unscrupulous and showing a lack of integrity as he is breaking the General Constitutional bylaws of the Organization he has become a part of by ignoring General Constitution Article VII #31 (pg #42 in my book) which states:

So here we have the Official Word from the constituency at present, and until they vote to change it, those that do differently are being unethical, and show a lack of honesty and integrity.

The silence is loud.

If the TV deal fails in Tampa, are these bleeding hearts going to burn their fellowship cards in protest?
