Personally, I really believe the "cons" you speak of are a group of no more than fifteen posters that make up what I refer to as "The Borg."
They cannot stand open and free discussion regarding extra-Biblical doctrines.
They think everyone (like me) who posts against such nonsense is anti-UPC, which is ludicrous. A perfect example of this would be all of the threads here dissecting Larry Booker's teachings on standards. One year ago, posting against his teaching was considered "anti-UPC." Now, he isn't even a part of the org.
Another example would be the anti-TV position of The Borg. One year ago posting in favor of ads on TV was considered anti-UPC. Now they are on the outside looking in. Our org made the right decision last autumn. Many posters on AFF were vindicated by that decision.
The Borg has changed addresses, but is still in business. Threats, intimidation, lies, deception and imposed "holiness" standards will always be their core identifiers.
