A good story on the gun issue.

"The perpetrator opens that door. Of course, at that time he's staring at her, her two children and a .38 revolver,"

This is an excellent argument against the arbitrary 10 round capacity limits. This woman was extremely fortunate that 5 of her 6 shots hit the intended target -usually the % in a high stress situation like this is much worse. My every day carry holds 7 rounds in a mag, and while I love it for its size I am making the move to something with a much larger capacity (15 in this case).

Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry said neither he nor his law enforcement agency will purchase weapons anytime soon from a major firearms dealer, after that dealer made a change to its policy on who can buy certain types of weapons.

Five shots in the face still didn't kill the intruder.

He wasn't shot five times in the face. Most of the rounds were to the body.

That, and a .38 bullet is only slightly less wimpier than a .22. I personally love the .22 but all my self defense guns are 9mm using Hornedy Critical Defense hollow point rounds. One of these to any guys face will drop in then and there.

Re: Guns: An Important Discussion

Sorry....I just assumed since the article said this:

Deputies arrested 32-year-old Atlanta resident Paul Slater in connection with the crime. Chapman said they found him on the ground saying, "Help me. I'm close to dying." Slater was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment. Chapman said Slater was shot in the face and neck.

That he was shot in the face.

Do you have many guns? I'd like to get a small gun ...but big enough to stop an intruder in his tracks should need be.

Later on the article listed the wounds to his body like a punctures lung, a shot to the stomach and maybe one or two more.

I won't say exactly how many I have by my every day carry right now is a Ruger LC9 9mm but plan on replacing that with my new Glock 19 (also 9mm). We also own a number of .22 weapons as well as an "evil!" AR-15 assault rifle -and in black no less!!

Just picked up another 200 rounds for ours.

My husband was at a gun show last weekend and the guys were telling him that the ATF was making the gun dealers in Houston take their AK's off the shelf. Can they do that?

The ATF should not have that authority. My guess is that a few of the gun shop owners at the show were blowing smoke.

I'm surprised you were able to find any .223 ammo. When I bought mine, I bought two cases of 500 rounds each at the same time and still have most of it. I am treating each round like gold! LOL
Hoping not to repeat the same mistake I made with the .223 (and not stocking up when I had the chance) I just recently bought an additional 10 thousand rounds of CCI .22
