No, those are slightly exaggerated. What I *did* fear was wearing gold of any kind, having a Christmas tree, wearing my hair in any kind of fashion that might be flattering, preaching as a woman, wearing pajama pants or anything that resembled male clothing in any fashion, wearing buttons that might resemble jewelry, watching videos or TV in a hotel, trimming my hair, wearing anything that may even resemble make-up, like clear fingernail polish...well, you get the picture. Yes, I lived in a terrible fear of these things because even though people said they were not salvational, they said if you ddn't do them, you would be lost.....which made no sense at all. So, Emma is simply an exaggerated me from long ago.
