I Can't Stand Romney.

As someone that will probably be voting for President Obama, I can definitely stand Romney. At the beginning of the Republican primary, I thought he would be the strongest challenger to President Obama. As of now, he doesn't look any better than Gingrich, Santorum or Paul at challenging him.

Unfortunately, conservatives are well outnumbered now and the conservative agenda is not what the majority want.

People want hand outs. They want to get paid to sit at home "looking for work." They want free gov't healthcare (polling showed most Americans wanted Obamacare, like it or not).

They don't want someone like Santorum who's completely right wing, nor someone like Gingrich who is crowd-driven and could at any time go completely nuts.

That's why Romney is winning. He's a centrist. Is he as conservative as I'd like, probably not. But remember Reagan? The Hollywood actor who was a democrat for years before switching parties? Reagan was a New Deal democrat and admired FDR .... hows that for prior history.

Before someone flips out, I'm not saying Romney is the next Reagan. There will never be another Ronald Reagan. The republicans need to stop looking for another Ronald Reagan. Reagan was what we needed for the Cold War and the 80s, not what we need now.

People like to criticize Romney for policies and things from years ago, yet the same people revere Reagan. Politics change. People change.

Unless you want Obama in the WH four more years, you have to vote on electibility. A pure conservative will never win in this country now. Keep dreaming.

I'm not buying into the electability thing because, the media declares it to be so.

You better recruit a couple of people to take our place at the voting booth. Not doing the electability. It hasn't changed anything in this country and is just a huge waste of time.

I've been checking into all the things Romney's camp has said that Newt is over the top on and I am finding out Newt is right, people just don't want to hear it. He uses very plain words, cards on the table guy, I can say I like that about him.

For instance, the Holocaust Robocall. They are calling that a stretch, but it isn't.

The facts are that Massachusetts was having a budget crises along with rapidly growing Medicare costs. Several nursing homes had considered closing their kosher kitchens and were opting to provide catered or prepackaged kosher food. The state legislature proposed an additional $600,000 increase to prevent that from happening, but Romney vetoed it citing budget restraints.

There are two ways the spending can be divided - discretionary and entitlements. If Romney wasn't dealing with a mandated cut, then it would be discretionary. That means that he chose to make those cuts. The legislature disagreed with him and overrode the cut. He had the authority to cut elsewhere and he chose the kosher cut. That is just not, eh, Kosher.

My problem with Gingrich is that he does have some very grandiose and bold ideas, it's just that he keeps the government involved in them.

One instance would be education. He wants school choice, but suggests giving out Pell grants. That is still bringing the government into education.

Another issue - his Moon base idea. He was very articulate (pointing out America's greatness to succeed anywhere they put their mind to it. We need that right now) with the discussion and pointing out that people were criticizing Kennedy about getting to the moon, but it happened. He brought out the private sector, but still stipulated that 10% would come from the government.

He seems to keep the government in a lot of his ideas. These two issues came readily to mind. I'm still checking on his other plans.

Romney went really negative after Iowa and he might be in a place that he has to stay angry to combat Newt. That may not going over very well. We shall see.

I'm thinking that America has Obama fatigue and that the media will talk the sheeple into voting for anyone. The GOP Establishment, Fox, it's cohorts (Hannity, Coulter, Hume, Megan Kelly, Shepherd Smith, etc.) and Drudge are doing a great job of convincing people that it's Romney.

Republican voters need a therapeutic slap across the face.

In exit polls yesterday, Florida Republicans revealed that their top reason for choosing their candidate was “electability.” After screaming at my TV for 10 minutes, I had several drinks and sat down to write this column.

John McCain was electable. Wasn’t he?

1.) Did anyone ever ask if Barack Obama was electable?

2) Did anyone ever ask if Hillary Clinton was electable?


And the answer to each of those questions is no.

The list of potential political liabilities for Hillary and Barack could go on for days. Each had an ideology far to the left of mainstream America. Neither had an executive’s pedigree. Yet, somehow, electability wasn’t an issue for them.

It ain’t a mystery, folks.

The electability question is a liberal media con. It is posed only when discussing Republicans. And it is posed often. The purpose of the question is to cast doubt on conservative candidates and, ultimately, keep them out of office.

And, tragically, it works.

If conservatives can learn anything from Barack Obama, it’s this: Anyone is electable.

The Republican Party is about to be cut to shreds, even as the establishment declares victory over those redneck insurgents from the Tea Party. Romney's victory may very well end up being pyrrhic for the GOP in the end.

I will support the GOP nominee, I am a realist, if we don't win we will get Obama. Santorum probably is closest to my values and principles, but he can't win, so what good is a vote for him??? I am voting my principles, the person that is closest to my principles, and will do a good job, getting elected, and leading the Congress in getting things done. Romney will now be demonized by the media, Obama, and many in his own party. Is he perfect, no, but he will do a good job.

We won't get anywhere with any nominee if we don't pick up more seats in the Senate. But, I'm with you, I align more with Santorum and he won't win.

I think that many Republicans like Obamacare, for the most part, and want Romney to win for that reason. Pam Bondi, Florida's AG, has been defending Romneycare. She stated she is for the mandates. So, there ya have it - what the push for Romney is really about. Voting for Romney = Obama.

I have a few more recruits for you to pick up for Romney. The number keeps growing. Better get to work.

I am also understanding that Trump will be endorsing Gingrich tomorrow. We shall see how that pans out.
