Re: Confess your sin, UPCI!
... and notice:
I did not say that REAL salvation in Jesus Christ is unavailable.

I haven't. I have heard people claim it to be so on a couple of occasions, but I have never heard it, seen it nor have I ever seen anyone even attempt to prove it.
Therefore - How can you say that your experience of "speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance" is the same experience as Acts 2:4 when it clearly is NOT the same experience?
And, being "nauseated" by the past discussions on this topic isn't the same as giving an answer. I have NEVER received an answer for this question from anyone - ever.
How can you (or any Three Stepper) claim that an experience that you have never witnessed is the bona fide and essential "evidence" of salvation?"
Going by your own testimony on this one - NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN SAVED since the Day of Pentecost, 30 A.D.

Thanks Pel. I needed that brought to my mind again.

You haven't received an answer to your question because you want someone to answer it YOUR way. LOL!
Tongues is another language. I know people who have understood the language of another - Hebrew and Spanish. So, yes, it is the same as in Acts 2:4.

...Were the tongues that you spoke an actual language? Or were they some kinda "angelic" speech? What is the percentage of pentecostals you know that have actually spoken in a known language?
Oh and one other thing, until a person speaks in a known language then Acts 2:4 is most certainly a describing a much different experience than the one currently had by most pentecostals...

I want it answered the BIBLE way... Acts 2:4-8. Read it. What does it say? Why haven't you ever seen this? Why do "Three Steppers" demand that this is the evidence for everyone's salvation?
Can you give me evidence of someone who spoke in a language that they had never learned as "the Spirit gave the utterance" and this speech was understood by a native speaker as their own native tongue?
Real evidence. Real evidence of Acts 2:4-8, happening today or at any point in the last 111 years since Agnes Ozman was said to have "spoken in the Chinese tongue for 2 hours..." which many in the room with her denied ever happened, and then she denied it, and then she said it was real, sort of... but maybe not Chinese... maybe "something" .... she doesn't know.
A Church of Christ minister challenged me for that when I was a young man; now I am old and I still have never found any evidence that I could take back to him.
Nothing.
So how can we demand this as "the evidence of salvation" when we don't have a scrap of evidence that it has ever happened outside of the Day of Pentecost and Acts 10?
Ever. According to the "Three Stepper" creed - we don't have evidence that anyone has ever been saved!

David,
The Church of Christ don't even believe in having music, who cares what he thinks about the book of Acts? LOL! I can't believe we are having this conversation on an Apostolic Forum. It just totally blows my mind.
I suppose a totally English speaking church is not going to understand another language when someone speaks in tongues that is not English. Good grief. LOL!
I personally know a woman that was speaking in tongues, a family was visiting and understood her every word. She was telling them how to be saved. They repented, were baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost - the whole family. That was pretty awesome!
Who cares about one person - Agnes Ozman? LOL! Good grief.
Do you speak in tongues? Do you believe people speak in tongues today?
