Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
A pair of books came in the post today.
One, Truth Shall Triumph, if I recall, was required reading in our first year of college. The price was right. Not sure it it will have any references to Harry Morse. There are not many Oneness theology books penned. Not sure why this one is out of print.
The other is the biography of Charles Parham. It is written by his wife. I hope to find material about Parhams interaction with the people I am writing about. I wish it had an index.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
The Charles Parham biography was interesting. But he never interacted with any of the people I am writing about. Nor did he ever set foot in the San Francisco Bay area. He did visit Modesto and Sacramento a time or two. But the bulk of his California visits were to Los Angeles.
Evangelist MR Tatman, whom I am writing about, did know Parham and did not care for him. He wrote a tract about his interaction with Parham when they were both at the Azusa /Street Mission in Los Angeles.
William Francis Manley and Charles Parham both preached at AFM Los Angeles and Zion, Illinois, but Parhams biography does not mention him, either.

Parham was the "doctrinal" father of the modern Pentecostal Movement. As I understand it he was post trib, believed in soul sleep and annihilation.

It seems Parham was jealous of Seymour’s success and evidently he was racist because he belonged to the KKK and taught Anglo Isrealism. Parham was all about Parham. I live about 20 mikes from Baxter Springs his home.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
4 more David Gray sermons came in the mail today. Still on the hunt for the Steve Epley Harry Morse quote.
Once it is found, I will post it here.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
Harry Morse was part of the Volunteers of America. Then he was part of the Peniel Mission movement. From there, he was Pentecostal.
To their credit, the Volunteers of America have a fantastic archive and professionals who assist in doing research.
No one has spilled any ink about the Peniel Mission movement. So, as data crosses my desk, it is dumped into the Peniel Mission file.
Today, more Peniel Mission data was placed in the file. Many women Pentecostal ministers had their start in the Peniel Mission movement. Some of those Peniel Missions became Pentecostal Missions.
Understanding the impact of the Peniel Mission on California Pentecostalism is part of the research. But before I can do that, the data has to be gathered.
Movement along that line was made today.
