This is best answered to me by the feeling of remorse
that accompanies an act that one is inevitably not proud
of later. A mature person would make amends, if possible;
but often this is not possible. Now, with Christ, and 1 John 1:9,
one is able to overcome any guilt feelings--at least once they
are able to accept grace, which is tougher than it sounds for many,
I guess.

This is just a model; Christ from a human pov,
and doesn't really address the need for Christ
for a human from God's pov.
To get rid of guilty feelings. Mmmmmkaaaaay.

Re: Timmy Talk

Ha wholly inadequate, yes, but one
just doesn't come to a complete understanding
of God, in Christ, overnight? And guilt eats people alive.
Usually repressed, compounding. Ever met anyone
who just can't admit they're wrong,
or say they're sorry? Genuinely sorry,
not some codependent apology that
ends up like an excuse.

Ok, well, no matter how far down
that path one has gone, and bro,
I seriously doubt most of us have a clue
how far that is, one can come to Christ,
and name their sin out loud, and be forgiven.

If the sin was against me, I may not
forgive you, but God, through Christ will.
This does not mean that you will escape
the temporal consequences of this action,
but that you will be redeemed from the spiritual one;
the only one that matters.

This is simplified, there are other steps
to take in order to show genuine contriteness,
one should temporally admit and apologize,
because, duh, it makes the temporal consequences
less severe...so don't, and see what happens.
The Kingdom in a nutshell; a perfect reflection.
Or at least a pretty good one, hmm.

And the sentence was death, of course.
Now, eventually you're going to run across
"an eye for an eye," so why all the "death sentence"
for sneezing stuff? but that's another thread

My latest hypothetical questoin

You are stranded on a desert island, and will be stuck there for at least ten years. Which would you rather have with you? A large trunk full of supplies: canned food, drinking water, first aid kit, a tent, fishing gear, camp stove and utensils, and a lantern, with lots of fuel ---- or a Bible?

Cheater! For that, you get nothing but a TV, a DVD player, and a DVD of Wednesday's presidential debate!
