Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Ted Cruz rolls out flat tax plan
Cruz said his tax plan was conceived with help from Arthur Laffer, President Ronald Reagan's tax adviser.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...flat-tax-plan/
Rubio: My tax plan cuts business taxes.
Paul: My tax plan does that plus payroll tax.
Cruz: My tax plan does all that, and eliminates the IRS.

If only this was for real!
I'm simply sad for myself.

The Flat Tax is a start. It's a good time to push it.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Glenn Beck isn't someone I listen to, but this is great because it's true about Sen. Ted Cruz.
Quote:
Glenn Beck Puts Ted Cruz’s ‘Eerily Accurate’ Memory to the Test After CNBC Debate
“Can you imagine — having a president of the United States who had an audiographic memory, and sitting across the table from Vladimir Putin and Iran and saying, ‘No, that’s not what you said?’” Beck asked.

Senate Session, Part 2
The Senate convened for a legislative session and resumed consideration of a two-year, $80 billion budget deal that also raises the debt ceiling.
SENATOR TED CRUZ ON THE FLOOR. LIVE COVERAGE ON C-SPAN 2.
"I've got to say, Leader McConnell has proven to be a very effective Democratic leader. With just 46 Democrats, the outcome is exactly what Harry Reid and the Democrats would want. Is this not a curious state of affairs? Why is a Republican majority leader fighting to accomplish the priorities of the Democratic minority."

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Religious Freedom - Ted Cruz
Justice Kennedy is holding up the Nazis as exemplars for the current SCOTUS.
When a Supreme Court justice compares his own lawless rulings to the draconian oppression of the Nazis -- and says that Christians should resign from public office if they will not surrender to his imperious decrees -- that really says it all. Those are his words, not mine. Justice Kennedy is holding up the Nazis as exemplars for the current Supreme Court.
I, for one, would rather stand with heroes like Bonhoeffer, than the tyrants who inflicted unspeakable evil. And the persecution of Christians -- in Iran, China, or America -- is simply wrong.

I'm not into politicians, but I really like Ted Cruz. He's my first choice. I'd vote for Trump or Carson (though with less enthusiasm). I'd vote for Rubio, Bush, Christie, or Paul (only as the lesser of two evils vs Hillary) and would stay home if it were anyone else (though I'd be tempted to stay home if not Cruz, Trump, or Carson).
In the end I really don't believe Trump can win the GOP. I think Carson fades. Bush is his own worst enemy (and though I personally think GWB was a great president and that's how history will see him) the Bush name works against him.
I think the establishment tries to prop up Rubio and Christie, and the question is whether or not Cruz/Trump/ Carson can endure till the end.
In the end I predict Rubio, because the GOP and Fox will push him on people and they'll buy. But give me Cruz and let's cross our fingers.

I agree! I was happy and surprised to hear Mary Matalin (James Carville's wife) say that her money was on Ted Cruz.
“My money right now is on Ted Cruz,” she said. “Again, I’m unaligned, but I think he speaks to the myriad factions of conservatism: Constitutionalists, Libertarians, the social conservatives.”
“I think he’s whip-smart, as evidenced by his debate appearances, and he’s a true, true, true constitutionalist, and everything’s lining up for him,” she added.

Her words in bold is how I feel every time someone tries to shoot him down, but it doesn't work. The Left can't get the best of him in an interview and the Right can't out debate him.
