Yes, Mexico needs to do more, but I'm not a citizen of Mexico. I'm an American and so that's who hears my loudest complaints.
Spooky stuff.

Just for clarification, Coop and others are all entitled to their opinion and to discuss issues like Illegal immigration. If you find that offensive you should probably avoid such threads.

However as a reminder to all please remember that your posts do not exhibit any hatefulness or meanspiritedness (I made that word up) towards any one group or race.

Also be aware that sometimes what seems hateful to one person might not be to another. These sort of discussions are highly subjective and emotional. We all have to check our emotions at the door and not get carried away with ourselves in these discussions.

Be sensitive to the other members here please.

This racist stuff is for the birds.
I was speaking generally, and then I took it all back when I pointed out "who was suffering the most."

You don't always have to be a racist to get to be called one. I didn't mean you in that post above. It's a delicate thing and ham-fisted guys like me tend to get called a lot of things too.

My own kids are the descendants of African American slaves. Yup, blond hair, blue eyes and all. Of course with the Scot-Irish and Czech mix (along with a bit of Cherokee) that I bring to the table I think I can tell a rather compelling tale of the abuses my forebears had to endure.

I'm all for people entering this land in a lawful manner. But, turn in an illegal. Noway. They do the jobs that I don't want to do. Ha. Coop, I'd like to see you pick squash all summer. It'd break your back. I tried it for a day just to see what their working environment is like. I didn't last half the day.

Would you report anything illegal, like a man that buys child porn ? Or is that UN-Christ like too? *sigh*

It isn't so simple as just getting "rid" of the people who are in this country illegally. There are families and children that are all involved. There are men who are risking a lot to come here and work to support their families, and if one of those hard-working men was my husband, I would be proud of his courage.

I do not appreciate the lack of compassion that has been shown and is being shown by politicians and the federal government. Immigration will play a huge part in how I vote in the next election. Compassion and humanitarianism will get my vote. Not "my four and no more" rhetoric.
More common sense and Christlikeness from Lady Brat.

We may have to re-teach English to our American compadre, Coop. It's spelled ILLEGAL, Captain America.

Probably not, unless I felt it was absolutely necessary, for a few important reasons. Sorry. Not my thing. My Daddy didn't raise a rat.

Consider for a moment: the law enforcement agencies in Northern Mexico are even more swamped than their US counterparts: remember when Tijuana had to take all the guns away from their force because it had been so thoroughly infiltrated by organized crime? Tijuana needs our help.

Also, who is suffering right at the border? Whose dessicated, often mutilated bodies do we find? White Texans? No, it's it's Hispanics that are suffering. Whose families are being torn apart by the current system of remittances?

In the U.S. three Federal Border Patrol Agents were sent to prison on suspiciously trumped up charges of "assaulting" armed drug dealers. In all three cases the agent himself was Hispanic. Coincidence?

The people of Mexico are suffering because the U.S. wants to play fast and loose on the border and treat the whole region like it's the Old West. I say again, it is the people of Mexico who are suffering the most. While there are numberous reports of crime committed by illegals against U.S. citizens, it is the Hispanic community that is forced to bear an unreasonable load because of the current system.

We're the country with the most resources. It is our responsibility to step up to the plate an implement fair and equitable policies at the border. We need to do so in a way that honors the de facto commitments we've already made with millions of "illegals" and we need to do so soon.
I agree with your post, and yes, the Hispanic population is definitely suffering at the hands of the governments of the USA and SA. I would support a path to citizenship for those already here, if they are being good citizens. But the first step is to protect our own borders, and stop the illegal flow. And no, I would not report someone simply because of being illegal, because our government is derelict in its duty.

Wow...comparing men who come here to WORK to men who exploit children for sexual gratification. That's really twisted, Cooper.

I already stated that I would report someone if they were a threat to another human being.

Would you report a kid for eating a grape from the grocery store produce department? That's called "grazing" by store managers, and is technically stealing.
