The 1986 Fender Stratocaster I had can be seen in this pic when I was 21 (20 years ago...good grief):

Bro. Scott and anybody interested in talking guitar:

I will be in and out today. I spend most every Sunday afternoon in my office resting and preparing for the evening service. So, I will have a little time to talk guitar today. Just post what ya want and I will review and respond later.

Bro. Scott, I am going to try to get the band to do an instrumental tonight. If it turns out well, I will post it later.

We do not have a soundman right now, so in any given service I:

1. Make sure the system is on.
2. Play the guitar.
3. Run back after music is over and start the cd recorder.
4. Run up to the balcony and do the media for the pastor's message.
5. Run back downstairs and turn the recorder off.
6. Get in on the altar call.
7. Turn the system off.
8. Go eat and do away with all of the good done by running up and down the balcony stairs.

The last time I mixed our sound, the steel player was not here. I do not know how the mix will be. If I don't like it, you WON'T hear it!

Yes well I imagine a Ibanez or Peavey or something is just as good.

Fender has a neat one out now. I think it's a VB, or VP Strat... I'd have to look again. Flip of a switch and it's a twelve string, acoustic sound, Drop D tuning, and a host of other settings.

Those Fender bass strings have gone down hill though.

I never use Fender strings. Always GHS. Though, years ago, D'Addario was my first choice.

Before every service begins, I spray a little finger ease on the ol' axe neck. Rub it in really, good!

Finger Ease won't help you with that arthritis common in old folks!
