El Rico... I don't care for Hollywood making comedies about the Bible... Years ago when I was a kid I watched Wholly Moses with Gene Wilder and ever since then I have been uncomfortable with Hollywood Comedy and the Bible especially since Hollywood is soooo looking our way....
Take Sandra's and Tyhuff's advice..two big winner's thumbs up...

My thinking is - Would you feel comfortable if JESUS Himself were sitting beside you watching this movie?...I believe God has a sense of humor, but I don't know that I would feel comfortable watching it. I am not getting into condemning those who do - but I don't care to see it. Someone recommended it to me in an email today and I did not respond.

Hollywood has made a living out of mocking Christianity....They hate Christians... there is no doubt about that.. but we have those here who are in show business and they seem to feel that it's alright.. I'd say go... and enjoy...matter of fact take your Bible with you... it would show solidarity and the fact you too have a sense of humor....

Here's some notes from Screenit.com
OUR WORD TO PARENTS:
The following is a brief summary of the content found in this PG-rated comedy. While no expletives are present, various colorful phrases (including some religious ones) are uttered, as is some non-explicit, but sexually related dialogue. A woman sees the male protagonist's full nudity (played for comedy), but our view of anything explicit is blocked.
A massive flood crashes through presumably empty homes and heads toward and then through a city, and that scene and a few others might be unsettling to the youngest of viewers. Some slapstick style material is also present, as is some tense family material, including a wife taking her kids to her mother's to get away from her husband who she thinks is having a breakdown.
Some of the exaggerated behavior on display might be enticing for some kids to imitate, while some bad attitudes are present (mainly from a corrupt congressman). Various instances of verbal and viewed crude humor occur, while some alcohol is present, and some comments are made about non-narcotics as if they were just that.
If you're still concerned about the film and its appropriateness for yourself or anyone else in your home who may be interested in seeing it, we suggest that you take a closer look at our detailed listings for more specific information regarding the film's content.
Profanity...
At least 1 incomplete, possible "s" word (although it could just as easily have been the start of the word "shoot" or any others that start with "sh"), 4 uses of "Oh my God" and 1 use each of "By God" and "God" as exclamations.
SEX/NUDITY
A stray dog thrusts its nose hard several times to Evan's clothed crotch.
Joan shows a little cleavage.
One of Evan's boys mentions an Argentine lake duck that has a penis as long as its body. When Congressman Long later asks Evan if he knows anything about animals, Evan repeats that fact to him.
When Congressman Long suspiciously asks what's up with Evan's sudden long hair and beard, Evan lies and says that he's just trying to spruce up the love life (with Joan).
A dog once again bumps its snout against Evan's clothed crotch, causing him to sit up and bump his head on part of the ark.
We see Evan out of the shower, shirtless, with just a towel around his waist.
Joan shows a little cleavage.
We see a magazine article that mentions the "metrosexual man."
Evan goes out to get the newspaper and then realizes (not through his doing) that he's fully nude. A female mail carrier sees him that way, but shrubbery and such block our view of his crotch area when he comes out and then (in a panic) goes back into the house (although we can otherwise tell he's fully nude).

I agree....Hollywood typically portrays Christians as buffons, bigots, simpletons, racists, perverts, and malcontents.

My movie choices aren't affected by what people say on an internet forum, Bro., so Sadra and Tyhuff's endorsements won't be a factor in my seeing this movie.

If Hollywood decided to make a comedy about Calvary would you go to the movie if it was family friendly? No I doubt you would.... what is the difference between the story of Noah and Calvary...it's simply Hollywoods way of running out of material and then deciding.. Oh..We can make fun of Chrisitians and call it family friendly and they won't even know it...
My question is this...
How dumb are we??
 ...

Are you still trying to give commentary on a movie you've never seen? How dumb is THAT?!?

One of Evan's boys mentions an Argentine lake duck that has a penis as long as its body. When Congressman Long later asks Evan if he knows anything about animals, Evan repeats that fact to him. Like UPC ministers haven't been known to use off-color jokes or facts . . . though they'll try to deny it.
When Congressman Long suspiciously asks what's up with Evan's sudden long hair and beard, Evan lies and says that he's just trying to spruce up the love life (with Joan). What's wrong with that? They're MARRIED!?!? It wasn't off-color.
A dog once again bumps its snout against Evan's clothed crotch, causing him to sit up and bump his head on part of the ark. CAUTION!: This movie has slapstick comedy.
We see Evan out of the shower, shirtless, with just a towel around his waist.
We see a magazine article that mentions the "metrosexual man." God forbid!
Hold up, this is terribly misleading! Yes, he walks out of the house in a suit and ends up, presumably naked . . . but the camera never goes below his upper chest area!!!!

This proves how dangerous it is to make comments about a movie you've never seen . . . you start equating said movie you've never seen with the Holocaust to begin with; then equate it to the Biblical account of the flood, which it's not (you'd know that if you saw even the previews); and finally now you talk about a Gene Wilder movie you saw that's made you uncomfortable with religious comedies . . . this is no Gene Wilder movie.

CR... I respective agree to disagree with you here...You've done what you've wanted to do as shall I... just stating an opinion here... as you...
Concerning the movie as you've stated... A man who is God tells a man to build an ark... and then animals show up two by two... yeah tha's got nothing to do with the scriptures.. it's original thought.. tell me another fairy tale...
