I don't think there is ever a day to be rude to people that think enough of you to visit you.

I didn't say that! And btw...I'm a stay at home mom and a lot of my friends are as well. However, many do have to work just to make ends meet.

You know that's not what I mean. Most of those I meet on visitation want you to come in and have something to drink and visit. If I catch someone off guard(sinner I mean) then I will come back at another time.
But on the other hand if I were to go to visit a saint, preacher friend, or family memeber and was not invited in, I wouldn't be back.

Probably 80 percent of our people don't have a clue where we live, and I'm fine with that. Unless you are in a rural setting, in 2007, people don't want you "just dropping by". We like our privacy and I don't really want people from church dropping by without notice; this is our haven. We deal with the people all the time outside of home; this is the place for US.

That's funny; the people don't pay our bills!! We get a salary from the ministry, not from the people. Thank goodness we aren't on the system where the pastor gets all the tithe; I would hate that. Actually, we would be quite wealthy if that were true, but I still wouldn't like the pressure.

Trust me, no one preaches tithing any stronger than my hubby. But we get a salary that does not change and no one can get mad and "withhold their tithe" from us. We also have no pressure to treat the wealthy any different than the poor. To me, that is the greatest benefit.

You can't be serious...oh, wait, you are from east Texas...I get it. My uncle pastored in Bon Weir for like a gazillion years...I understand completely where you are coming from...
In the real world what you put up with is not a reality...
BTW, the people who attend our church pay their tithe to God, I live on a portion of it but work my rear end off at and for the church to earn it. I refuse to be "owned" by them...I am not their slave...and they do not have any right to control my private time.
But they are welcome in my home....just not uninvited unless there is an emergency situation that dictates it...but they are NOT WELCOME to bring their marriage stuff and bad spirits and stuff to my house...if they want counseling or prayer over demons and stuff...set up a meeting at the church.

What, you don't want people just stopping by? You aren't going to invite them in and offer them some coconut cream soup???
