My hair doesn't grow either, and I have a daughter who's hair has never been past her shoulder blades. I grew SO tired of hearing people question HER about OUR hair length. I felt the same way about that post by GodzChild...just choze to ignore the seeming ignorance in her rantings...

It that truly is the case, then why is shoulder length hair wrong. For the record I am not UPC and I do not cut my hair. The pacifier smiley is suggestive that your fellow poster is being childish...I beg to differ. I find you to be a lil bit of a smart aleck, sis. Not real becoming.

Hair should not even be an issue for salvation.

It is the blood of Christ applied to our lives that gives us salvation.

Re: Former Memphis area pastor preaching a confere

When I saw this thread for the first time this evening and looked at the poster advertising the conference the first thing I thought was that somebody was playing a joke and had been busy in photoshop, etc.

Pretty shocking but then not really if TB is as unrepentant and unapologetic as it appears.

Those of you that follow my posts on AFF know that I have said since for years that I am always very leery of any preacher whose place in the wide spectrum of Pentecost suddenly shifts greatly.

It is possible that a rigid conservative preacher could change to a more liberal one from the trauma of being discovered in gross moral failure and the process of starting over.

However that would only be after a long period of introspection, Bible Study, counseling, humbleness, repentance, asking for forgiveness, oh and that whole "humbleness" thing is worth mentioning again along with meekness.

Any pastor in his situation ought to have enough sense to sit himself down and work through everything in his life and his relationship with God, his wife, his family, and the folks that he was previously shepherding.

This is way too soon to be publicly talking about your "restoration". As somebody else said "Good Grief!"

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I knew I should not have tried to add the smiley.....I do not see well, and I did not realize that it was a pacifier smiley, I just thought it was a regular one. I do apologize sincerely.

I am right there with you! I was at a store today trying to see if they had the size ammo I needed on a shelf behind the counter. I finally had to wait for someone to help me as I could only read about 1/3 of the boxes (the ones with large print!)

I am trying to grow old gracefully...so...I'm glad I am not alone with 'eye changes'.

Re: Former Memphis area pastor preaching a confere

OK...let me clearify something to the ones who think I was being judgemental.......correct me if I am wrong....but YOUR PASTOR WIFE IS SUPPOSED TO BE AN EXAMPLE??????? ALONG WITH YOUR ASST. PASTORS WIFE AS WELL????? ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was merely stateing that my former pastor/asst. pastors wives never "looked the example" of a UPC PASTORS WIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No...hair should never be an issue for salvation. And for "MY RANTINGS" , please excuse them as such to you or anyone who may have taken them as such. I was merely responding to someone elses post about TB and his wife!!!! This should have never been taken as to be towards someone else!!!!! For this reason, I ask those who took this as an attack on "hair length meaning anything"....forgive me for coming across as such! As for NOT4SAKEN.....bc of other things that happened to my family, my daughter and husband has walked away and said they will never go back.....and only thro private messages I will be more than happy to talk with you again. I am so sorry that I really did offend you or anyone for that matter. I am struggling with my walk daily and with things that I have no control over but they are so close to me that they cut deeply. I need everyones prayers and one day I know God will trun my husband and daughter back on the right track. I am a former member of TPC and what TB done to my family and the lies he lived is still very hurtful and it makes me cry but if I do not forgive and move on it will consume me and I refuse to allow the devil control on my life. God will sustain and restore in HIS time! I do apologize for any posts that may have been hurtful to someone else.
