Re: US Embassies in Egypt, Libya Breached, BO Sile

I think we do need to apologize to the people of these countries, not the terrorists. We have our own terrorists you know? We get upset when someone criticizes the UPC or the Trinitarians, here on AFF. And we are CHRISTIANS. Hello?

I still don't see how anyone, regardless of party, could not see that as hugely inappropriate and misleading. But that all goes back to our partisan landscape and "our guy" vs "their guy".
Carry on. We'll just continue down this same direction seeing that the two parties are just two lanes on the same highway....
Exactly, Stew!

And here Romney puts his foot in his mouth once again. That silver must taste real good to him.

China calls Romney's accusations 'as false as they are foolish'

On Thursday, the Republican presidential candidate released a new ad on manufacturing jobs contending that "for the first time, China is beating us" and that President Obama has "failed to stop China's cheating."

The official New China news agency responded Friday with an editorial calling Romney's remarks "as false as they are foolish" and saying that it is "ironic that a considerable portion of this China-battering politician's wealth was actually obtained by doing business with Chinese companies before he entered politics."

Agreed and I do agree with Hillary's statement as well:

"We are working to determine the precise motivations and methods of those who carried out this assault. Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior, along with the protest that took place at our Embassy in Cairo yesterday, as a response to inflammatory material posted on the internet. America’s commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear – there is no justification for this, none. Violence like this is no way to honor religion or faith. And as long as there are those who would take innocent life in the name of God, the world will never know a true and lasting peace."

And, BTW, that stupid Koran burning pastor in Florida is an idiot just like the Phelp's group (Of course, not related to MP and his clan. ) We SHOULD apologize on behalf of America for these idiots taking their Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion too far.

I don't have a lot of time today, but I just think that they need to abandon this line of argument.
Stew, ambassadors represent the office of the president. The Embassy slammed the film makers, Hillary did and the president did. Offense to Muslims shouldn't even be mentioned. Muslims systematically, daily slam Judaism and Christianity and it's institutional, not just some crack pot preacher from Hicksville USA. They teach racism and genocide to their children from the youngest ages, with even children's programming indoctrinating them to hate other religions. Their governments do nothing to condemn or to apologize for such actions---they ENCOURAGE it!

The bigger picture is that this administration believed before and obviously still believes that these people are reasonable and sensible. Obama thought he could sit down with Ahmadinjhad and resolve the problem diplomatically. He thought the Middle East would be better off without Ghaddafi, Mubarak, etc. The "Arab Spring" was a triumph.

The broader narrative is what is the issue here. These folks don't care about apologies, they aren't impressed with bowing to Saudi kings, they see all of this as weakness. They don't even appreciate that we stood by them in their quest for revolution and overthrowing their leaders. They are brainwashed into believing that their god wants them to dominate the world and to destroy Western civilization.

So apologetic language and condemnations of amateur movies should not be the emphasis before or after Muslims rise up. And to that point Romney is right. This administration as an aversion to be stern with Muslim nations for fear they may be offended.

We send $2 billion plus to Egypt. They could've stopped the Embassy attack. They are now, but where were they at the beginning. Even Obama was reluctant to call them an ally. Later the State Dept declared them an ally.

The foreign policy of this administration is meandering.

People keep wanting to make Romney the issue. He's the least of America's problems.

The statement about China is true however. They are cheating. They keep the value of their currency manipulated and they don't play fair. And the trade deficit is abysmal. Just because American companies and individuals are making money in China has nothing to do with the fact that they are cheating.

We should never apologize for nongovernmental individuals who do not represent the American people exercising free speech. By apologizing we give them more weight than what they actually carry. These Muslim governments do nothing about their schools that are funded by the government indoctrinating their children with hate and violence. Some yahoo from Florida is nothing. These governments and people should be grateful for the blood and trillions we have spent trying to keep their part of the world from falling apart.

THEY SHOULD BE APOLOGIZING TO US!!!!!!!
